Certified full-face helmet. Maximum protection for demanding flights.
Beyond the wing and the harness, some accessories improve safety and comfort on every flight. Here is what each one brings so you can set priorities according to your level and flying style.
It is essential from the very first flight. It must be certified for paragliding (EN 966), fit without play and let you hear well. Full-face helmets also protect the jaw; open helmets are lighter and cooler.
A variometer tells you whether you are climbing or sinking and helps you centre thermals. GPS models add altitude, ground speed and flight logging, which are very useful to progress and plan cross-country flights.
A comfortable backpack with good weight distribution makes the walk to take-off and travelling easier. For hike & fly, look for light models; for everyday use, more volume and protection.
Gloves, sunglasses and windproof clothing make a difference at altitude, where it gets cold even in summer. Choose clothing that does not restrict the movement of your arms and legs.
