New Certified Instructor

New Certified Instructor

We are pleased to announce that our team is growing with a new certified instructor, specialised in acrobatic flying. His arrival strengthens the training the club offers and opens the door to new possibilities for pilots who want to keep progressing.

We take the opportunity to explain what it means to be a certified instructor, what acrobatic paragliding is and how you can start training with us, whether you have never flown or already have experience.

What a certified instructor is

A certified instructor has completed specific training and holds the qualification needed to teach paragliding and accompany students. The work is not only explaining technique: the instructor also assesses the conditions of the day, decides when to fly and adapts each lesson to each person's level.

Experience and qualification are a safety guarantee, especially in the first steps, when the habits that will stay with a pilot for life are learned.

Acrobatic paragliding

Acrobatic flying, or acro, consists of performing controlled manoeuvres with the paraglider, such as very tight turns or sudden changes of direction and speed. It is a demanding discipline that requires good command of the wing and specific training.

It is not an activity for beginners and is not part of introductory tandem flights: it is practised with proper instruction, in controlled conditions and with suitable equipment. Having a specialised instructor makes it possible to learn these techniques with good judgement and with safety as the priority.

How to start training

If you have never flown, the first step is an introductory course where you learn the basics: wing control on the ground, take-offs, landings and reading the wind. Over time you move on to longer flights and more advanced techniques.

If you already fly and want to improve, you can ask us which courses are available and which best suits your level and goals.

Safety and progression in paragliding

In paragliding you progress in stages. First you master take-off and landing, then you learn to read the wind and thermals, and only when you are comfortable do you explore more advanced manoeuvres. Skipping stages is one of the most common mistakes among new pilots.

A good instructor helps you advance at your own pace, recognise your limits and enjoy flying with good judgement.

What to expect from your first lessons

The first lessons usually start on the ground, with a paraglider laid out on a flat area, practising how to inflate the wing, keep it overhead and control the take-off run. It is a very important part, because the safety of everything else depends on it.

After that you move on to short flights from gentle slopes, with the instructor's guidance and always watching every movement.
