A paragliding holiday in Morocco can be more than a flight: a trip that combines adventure, culture and food in a country full of contrasts.
We explain how to plan it so you miss nothing and can enjoy both the flight and the rest of the trip.
Define the type of trip
Before booking, think about what you want: a weekend from Marrakech, a week in the south with coast and desert, or a longer trip combining several zones. The clearer you are, the easier it will be to organise your days.
A comfortable base: Marrakech and surroundings
Marrakech is the usual starting point. From there you can easily reach the flying zones nearby and go on mountain excursions. Combining the medina, the souks and a flight on the same trip works very well.
The club also provides information on accommodation and transport in the Aguergour area.
A route along the southern coast
If the ocean appeals to you, you can add a few days on the Atlantic coast with Aglou, Legzira and other villages in the area. It is a calmer pace, ideal if you want to rest between flights.
Transport and accommodation
Around Marrakech there are organised transport options. On the coast the distances are greater, so plan your car or transfer in advance.
Book accommodation early in high season and leave some margin in your itinerary: the wind may force a flight to be moved to another day.
When to travel
Spring and autumn are usually comfortable seasons for getting around and flying. Summer is very hot inland and winter is cold at altitude, although every year is different. Ask the club for the most suitable time according to your plans.
Example of a three-day itinerary
Day one: arrival in Marrakech and a walk through the medina. Day two: morning flight in the mountain zone and a free afternoon to rest or take a short excursion. Day three: kept as a margin in case the wind has forced the flight to be moved, or a visit to an Atlas village.
It is just an idea: adjust the days to your taste and always leave some flexibility.
What to include in your budget
Count the flight, accommodation, transfers, meals and any additional activity. Ask what is included in the price of each service and avoid surprises.
If you travel as a couple or in a group, ask whether special conditions exist for several people.
